Nancy O'Dell's radio career started as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. The result was the state government imposing more stringent regulations in these cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell served as co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. O'Dell's current role as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
